This has become quite popular over the past few years and developers have been quick to take advantage of this to ensure that they can make even profit and money from gamers pre-ordering their games. Developers tend to offer some sort of extra in-game content for people that pre-order games which incentivise some into pre-ordering that game. It also guarantees you a game on the release date although chances are unless the game is extremely popular, you can get a copy by just walking into a store. Do you guys pre-order games or wait until it has been released?
My older kids pre-order all the time. My son likes to do it when he can get free characters or weapons. Preordering is a brilliant strategy, not just for gaming companies but almost anything that is trendy. I've bee seeing a lot of companies pre-selling on Facebook. The last one I saw was this robot/personal assistant thing.
